Performer
I perform solo and in small chamber groups and dance bands
in concert halls, churches, restaurants, school auditoriums, clubs, parks, subways, ferries, libraries and prisons.
I’ve wanted to be a musician since I was a 4 year old, singing “You are my sunshine” with my mother in close harmony in the bathtub. For many years I was unsuccessful with every instrument I attempted; my alternating vision made it difficult for me to watch and learn, something few people knew about when I was growing up. Then, at Oberlin, I picked up the viol and for some unknown reason, I could play it. My specialty is tiny bowed string instruments–here I play rebec with Scott Reiss.
